I hope someone could answer my question.

We have 2 desktop computers that the kids use so much that my husband and I each now have laptops.

Does anyone know of a DSL modem/router that allows 2 desktops to connect via USB and then have the laptops go wireless?

I saw Linksys has one that allows one computer to hook in wired, but could not find any info for allowing 2.

Thank you in advance.

I would recommend that instead of purchasing a DSL modem/router, that you look for a wireless router by itself.

I am assuming that you already have the DSL modem. A Linksys wireless router typically runs between $40 and $80, and can connect your home network, both wireless, and wired computers in one simple solution.

I use a Linksys WRT54G, and could not be happier. All you need to do is connect it to your DSL modem on the internet connection side, and then set the router to receive its internet connection automatically via DHCP.

Ok, just caught the USB comment. Any particular reason for it? Ethernet is much faster.

Any wireless router will support multiple wireless clients and will often have four wired ports. Your local computer shop or one of the chain stores will carry a model that works for you. Another option is to check with your ISP to see if they offer a combo modem that acts as the DSL modem and a wired/wireless router. Verizon FiOS has that as a feature now given they also offer a Voice over IP (VoIP) option.

** Edit **
Reread your post and noticed that you want two or more USB network connections instead of the RJ45 Ethernet ports. I'm not sure on those options as I've always gone Ethernet. If you don't find a router and your desktop systems don't have the RJ45 ports you can pick up a PCI Ethernet card for less than $15 at most stores (I've seen many less than $10, but have always gone for ones that are more likely to be supported by non-Microsoft OS drivers)
