I'm only a few weeks along and I'm going to the doctor in two days. My boobs are so sore and swollen. I'm really self conscious about them. I need to know what I can do to make the swelling go down and the pain to end. It seems that the only thing that has helped is losing a couple of pounds just so they can breathe. I am in hell and disgusted with myself.

I should add that I need to be able to function at work, so I can't be stuffing my bra, although I will try the cabbage @ home

Wow, you're only a few weeks along and you're already in this much despair about your pregnant body? If this is how you are now you're never going to survive pregnancy. Buck up a little.

The swelling probably wont go down, they grow and swell all through pregnancy, and dont stop until your milk is regulated from breast feeding, or until it dries up from not breast feeding.

The soreness however will subside in a couple weeks, its generally only bad in the first trimester. You can put cold compresses on them and see if it helps, but generally it only aggrivates them more.

You have to go with the flow. Its really only as bad as you make it, trust me. I know your pain. I went from a comfortable 123 pounds with D boobs clear to an over flowing G and 171 pounds by the end of my pregnancy. In the beginning it felt like someone was running a cheese grater across my nipples all day and night. But, you get over it when you decide to. There are worse things in life, what it takes to have a child is not one of those things.

Try a cool compress. Poor thing. Just keep in mind that your body is preparing to make milk for the baby. Dont try to lose weight, that is not why your boobs are bigger and your baby needs nutrician and food. I hope you feel better soon. Call your doctor...maybe you can get seen today instead. Try not to be self consious...you are pregnant and that is something to be proud of...your body will change and for a wonderful reason! Congratulations on your pregnancy! Fell better! :-)

This is very, very normal. Unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do to make the swelling or the pain stop except to take Tylenol or maybe take a warm bath. The pain is off and on in the first trimester and gets better in the second but you will have days even then where they hurt. Don't forget to mention it to your doctor. He/She will have other ideas.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

You could wear 2 sports bras to try and keep them as still as possible, because they hurt when they move.

I remember those days. Just wait until they are Double D's. UGH!

my wife also experienced the same as yours' whenever she's got pregnant and i got four kids now who are at their teen ages...i just want to share to you what my wife did when she suffered the same...she told me to buy a SUCKER from a drug store which we call it 'GOTA' in tagalog or whatever name they call for this...then simply put this GOTA to her boobs and squizz the rubber to suck the excess milk from his boobs and all everything goes well..just ask the pharmacist how to do and how to use it...just want to help based on our experienced...
