what are the reasons there are different carbon atoms, such as alpha and beta carbons? are there different names for carbons with different no. of bonds?

the alpha carbon is the carbon immediately after the carbon attached to the functional group, and the beta carbon is the one after the alpha carbon.. what abt the one after the beta C?

The alpha and beta are just used to identify carbon atoms.It has nothing to do with the number of bonds. The one after the beta is delta then gamma. It's just the greek alphabet in order.

the carbon after the beta is called gamma, the following delta. to see use the Greek alphabet
