Hi. Should I be worried if the "head" of the network cable (you know, that part of the cable that is inserted in the RJ-45 slot of the computer in order for that computer to connect to the Internet) gets too dusty? I am using a laptop, and the network cable is exposed to very much dust. I am worried that the dust will.. uh, just reach that place where the colored little wires connect to the computer through the RJ-45 slot and send the data to the computer. I am afraid of corrupt downloads, or just files that are not considered corrupted, just that they aren't made out of the exact data of the actual file from the server. Should I worry if it becomes severely dusted? I haven't gotten any corrupt files yet.

Buy a can of compressed air, unplug cable every week or two, and gentle blow the socket out with canned air, get the dust out. Then no worries

Hi,
The dust will just block the connectivity of the small electrical impulse passing through there, it will not make the file corrupt of something. Because if the dust there blocks, there will be absolutely no connection at all.

the previous suggestion was good, only that the compressed air cost a bit, but you can try cleaning it with clean cloth and rub on it.
