it makes them feel good to justify war by saying they are doing something good, when in fact if that were the case they would, as you said, want to do more elsewhere.

The Democrats would have a field day with that too, all 8 of them that were going to go to Africa, but couldn't get up the fare.

First of all, any country, including America, has to do what is in its own best interest before anything else. What is happening in Africa is tragic but not a threat to America as is Islamo-facism. That is what requires our attention and resourses most.
As far as your conclusing that Africa doesn't have natural ressources we or any country want is silly. Africa is rich in everyting from minerals to oil to whatever else you could possibly desire. It puts the lie to the premise that oil is the sole motivation for our war in Iraq. America must take care of the very real threat that Islamo-fascism is posing before taking on any humanitarian mission. That is for the UN right now. Why do they not step up?

The US military tried to send a contingent of soldiers who were liberals and democrats to Africa, but they could only find like 8 troops.

You consider that we have better chance for democracy in Iraq than Africa.
I know too many missionaries that are leaving Africa because of years of being their Africans refuse to do anything for themselves.
How about we settle Iraq before we move on to the next project?

I think that everyone wants for all coutries to have the freedoms that we have here in the US. Not just Republicans. If Bush had went to war in Africa, he would have been called a warmonger and racist for getting into the business of Africans. He cannot win. I am sure that Hollywood would protest him, even if he did help Darfur.

I tried something like this a while ago. You (being a liberal) were unable to give me any kind of good reason for being in Darfur. All you can do is point fingers; when we ARE somewhere, you whine, when we're NOT somewhere, you whine. No solutions, no logic, only blame and further splintering of American citizens occurs.

So basically, you're saying the UN is useless. I couldn't agree with you more. Too many genocides occur under their watch.

Good question, especially since the USA is becoming less and less of a democratic country itself and more and more like a fascist country. Hmmmm.........
