A person can quite easily live without a wife. It depends on the strength of character of the man. Its only pressure from certain societies that make you think that. In Australia many people never get married and are successful and happy, possibly more so than if they had gotten married.

A person can live without wife but life will be dull without wife. Wife is a partner and a companion through out life. Wife and husband take care of each other in joy and sorrow. Marriage brings in children and there is a lot to enjoy with children. Lonliness is really boring.

The 'person' you are referring to must not be 100% self reliant. Therefore, is unable to take care of details such as buying postage stamps and shaving razors.
Maybe the 'person' you are talking about, needs someone with a drivers license to get them to work.
Maybe the 'person' you are talking about, does not do house work and is living in a pest infested dwelling.
Some people can actually live happily without a wife, I did it for a long time!

This may be true of some people only.
Most can do and do till they get married other get divorce or become widower and stay single.
But human are social animal and they do have need to be associated with person of opposite sex, for many reasons.
Without this basic reason the human race would have been non existent a long time ago.

Being without a wife is peace and quiet and you are free to do what you want.
Being married is compromise, but you always have someone there to help you out. Two is usually better than one when it comes to finances, decision making, sex.
If you marry an A$$hole. May God have mercy on your pathetic soul.

I know plenty persons doing so, and happily, and by choice. And I know a few who seem to not be able to function w/out one; these are usually the men who end up divorced because they don't offer anything to the relationship.

My husband, whom I married when he was 38 and I was 28 - first marriage for both of us, says he never felt as FREE as he did once we married! He calls me his Life, not only his life!
I think it's a wonderful thing - the love just grows and deepens the longer you are married, you have someone to love you - and to love, and you can let yourself go and be vulnerable, in a great way.
