Do you agree?

Pessimists are people who always think that everything is going to go badly, and nothing will ever work out

whereas optimists are the kind of people that are always looking on the bright side, and believe that everything will work out perfectly.

. . . but they both have their turns at being wrong i guess

Your definition is that of a pessimist. Both must recognize the truth to be functioning in reality. The difference is that the pessimist sees only the work still ahead and the optimist sees the goal getting closer. Pessimism is self-defeating. Optimism is self-fulfilling.

As the JFK said: Some men see things as they are and ask, "why?". Others see how they could be and ask, "why not?".

no I definitely don't agree with you, pessimists look at the negative in everything while the optimist looks at the positive. heres a story, there once was a women who woke up in the morning to find she only had 3 hairs so she said to herself I think I will braid my hair today, the next day she woke up she only had 2 hairs on her head so she said I think I will part my hair down the middle and so she did very happily, the next day she woke up and found she had only one hair on her head so she happily said I think I will wear by hair in a ponytail and so she did, the next day she woke up she was bald she said "oh thankgoodness now I don't have to waste time styling my hair"..
