Roy has a mass of 60kg. Laurie has a mass of 65kg. they are 1.5m apart.
a) what is the magnitude of the gravitational force of the earth on Roy?
b)what is the magnitude of Roy's gravitational force on the earth?
c)what is the magnitude of the gravitational force between Roy and Laurie?
d)what is the magnitude of the gravitational force between Laurie and the sun?

i would be happy if some1 could just walk me thru it by showing steps. thank you.

a) F=mg
The magnitude of the gravitational force of the Earth on Roy is Roy's (as he stand on its surface) weight on Earth.

b) Fr=Fe
Action = reaction (This straight forward. The Earth pulls Roy with the same force as Roy pulls on it.

c) F=G m1m2/R^2 where
G - gravitational constant
m1 - Roy's mass
m2 - Laurie's mass
R - the distance that separates its center of masses.

d) F=G M1m2/R^2
M1 - the mass of the Sun
R - the distance between the center of the Sun and Laurie.
