I agree. Just a small tear, shouldn't set you back more than 2-4 weeks. That the time frame I got for mine and work.

It depends : Are they performing a menisectomy (removing the meniscus - complete or partial?) Or meniscus repair ??!! It also depends on the place of the tear and if they'll do anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. It takes the reconstructed ligament approximately 9 months to heal Healing after arthroscopy of meniscal tear depends upon age, weight, and general fitness. Repaired meniscal tears heal if there is adequate blood supply and tissue stability. A stable knee is therefore important, thus you might have to wear a cast. it is possible to bear weight (partial weight bearing) on the surgically treated leg by using crutches for the first 7 - 10 days after surgery. You may stop using crutches when comfortable. Supervised physical therapy often is started by the second to third day after surgery. You will have to follow a physiotherapy regime (again it depends on the above factors) but generally it's 6 to 10 weeks, and you can progress to a self-directed program in a health club. You might be able to go back to work in 2 weeks if it's a partial menisectomy. Good Luck & Get Well Soon =)*

I assume keyhole surgery is orthoscopic. My boyfriend is having that done next Thursday for a meniscus tear. I'm hoping it's as minor as yours is. I wish you good luck and a speedy recovery!

oh dear... if it's just a small tear, you'll be out for twenty minutes, recovery for 45, staples for a week, and you should be ready to play again in two or three weeks. i would rehab with your school PT and come back sooner. good luck!
