Anyone that watched the game knows the clock actually had 3 seconds on it after the catch. If the player drops the pass they go to replay and put time back on. Who wants to let a 50/50 kicker attempt a FG without one try to the endzone? Anyhow he needs to go nail his "Admin Assistant" again and plan on dinner at daddys "Pop should be home for good before long "Skippy"....mix in a salad and lose that triple chin....

I think Terry wants to coach again and nobody will hire him. Miles call was the correct call as there were 4 seconds left when the TD reception was made. Clearly there was sufficient time to stop the clock if needed for a timeout, but an incomplete pass also stops the clock.

Tuberville should be the one that Bowden should have been critical of. Tuberville should have challenged the amount of time remaining where the clock should have been reset to 4 seconds. Although it would be unlikely Auburn could have done much with the extra 3 seconds, they could have fair caught the kickoff and take a chance on a Hail Mary pass.

Bradshaw is NOT alone when he says it was a bad call. MOST pundits agree that the safe play was to kick the field goal. The qb had been sacked, he could have scrambled and waisted the final seconds or a penalty could have backed them up. More bad could happen than good with that play.

The announcers and fans alike were surprised by the call as was Auburn which is likely why it worked so well. I give Les Miles credit for a gutsy call and yes, if the catch had been incomplete they still had time for a field goal. But that alone does not make it a good call. If one of those bad things had occurred, Les Miles would have screwed up the entire season for LSU....

Bowden is bitter because he wants to coach again but nobody wants to hire him. He never has anything good to say about LSU. They could be undefeated for 10 seasons and he would criticize something. They can beat an opponent by 50 points and he would point out how horrible the coaching was and tell how he could do it better. He is a washed-up has-been and is jealous and bitter towards many coaches, because they are coaching while he plays armchair quarterback. If you watch his sweet 16 every year, he has obvious favorites. He is a petty, bitter little turd. He wishes he had balls like MIles.

Does an incomplete pass still stop the clock?? And yeah after the ball was caught it still was running. So for s**** and giggles lets say he drops it and they don't put time on the clock. There is still one second on the clock, with it stopped, and he has a timeout. How long does it take to kick a field goal. And god forbid he try and outsmart his opponent( which isnt hard with Tubberville).

it was a bad call, not because there was still 3 seconds on the clock, but because it could have, key words could have taken all the time off the clock

think about it like this, it either goes for you...touchdown pass in the end zone with 3 seconds on the clock...or it either doesn't go for you...incomplete pass with no time on the clock....in reality there would at least have been 1 second on the clock, but it was a bad call because ulimately 9/10, it is incomplete with no time on the clock...game over

Wreck-Les Miles made the wrong call. A field goal wins the game, not gambling the entire season to look like you have balls. That's something a teenager would do. Let Tuberville keep the nickname "the riverboat gambler".

Les Miles has said he thought there was more time on the clock. i don't know if he really thought that but that is what he said. they were getting single coverage on that reciever... it was a heads up call. the Pundits are usually stupid fairly often.. they have to fill up air time and sound opinionated.

Bowden is right, that was a bad call that went good. Miles is a bum if that pass is intercepted by Auburn.
Gutsy call that paid off well for LSU!

Funny, but every other analyst I've seen has pretty much said the same thing.

Seems like you have some personal issues with Mr. Bowden that should be dealt with in therapy...

that call took some gonads if he had not caught it the game would have been over and LSU would have lost the game maybe there would have been one second left maybe not but thats why i like Miles he has the guts to make calls like that unlike mt teams coach that would have called for the field goal unit and would have probably missed it
