Have I been used?

This is a tad drawn out, not to mention pathetic, but please stick with me. Basically, my best friend fell out big time with his (married) sister; soon afterwards she started hanging round me a lot, was on msn every day, we went out places, talked for ages, etc; even seemed to be flirting slightly; endless eye contact, lots of compliments, found excuses to get half undressed a couple of times.

All along my friend said she was trying enchant me just to get at him; that she cared nothing for me. Being pretty naive and vulnerable (due to something I won't bore you with) I lapped up the attention and started to fall for her; she kept doing/saying borderline flirty little things - a kiss on msn, saying there's no one she'd rather be with, resting her head on my shoulder, feet on my lap, etc, but always said we were only friends.

Lately she's backed off a little. My friend says she's got bored; she says she's just busy and didn't mean to give the wrong idea. So have I been used?

Yes, you have. Women like her sniff out vulnerable men like you, wind them up and then say "I didn't mean to give you the wrong idea". It's a pathetic ego-boosting game for her, which just shows what a loser she is.

She is definately not for you. Some people like to drag people around and play with them and get them to "fall" for them as you have and then leave. They many times feel that they have done nothing wrong. She is married and flirting with you. You don't need that. Learn a lesson from this and remember that you should get to know someone a little more before you "fall" for them. See what they are about first. And never trust a married person coming after you. They are married after all.

From what all you have described, I feel that you should get back to your balanced thinking and start discrete listing of all your contacts with her.

She was married. Please see that your listing should reveal more than 80% interest shown from the lady to you.
From what all you said, I feel that it is better that you forget about this woman immediately. Now she is also not much hanging on you, so yo can easily, get her discarded.
Don't go on to think if you are USED by her It is enough that you are not drenched and not sunken inside the trouble spot, to have been ended injured.

I would trust your friends instincts as it sounds very much like something many girls would do to get back at someone. Girls think on a wider scale when it comes to payback and after all she is your friends brother and in any case why would you be getting half naked with a married woman. Ditch the ***** and have some respect for your friend and yourself

We often let our feelings get out of control when we think that someone is interested in us. I would try to keep your committment level in check and just proceed carefully. Dont worry so much that she may be using you just dont over .commit until you know. You can never have to many friends
