Why do actors in old movies - like the one im watching now I COULD GO ON SINGING (1963) - look soo airbrushed and fakely tanned. ??

They look like they have beeen painted or something

Alot of the old movies have had color added later so it does not look natural at all. They did not have the technology to make it look real.

so what...the film is 44 years old .
actually they usually had to put on makeup to keep the actors from looking shiny.
