i have 10 herman tortises and there only about 5 pound not a lot and there cheap they dont eat much lol

they are about £1000 each. banned from importing them from greece i think it was as most of them arrived here dead. saw some tiny 2 inch small ones at the pet shop on sunday, they were in a tank with a heat lamp.

In Malaysia, the chinese medicinal shops have loads and loads of them stored in their backyard. Not really as pets but for a jelly like medicine called "kwai ling kou"

You can get them from my local petshop. But they are quite pricey. Its mainly down to the fact that when they are shipped to UK, alot of them die in transit. Try and go to a breeder who breeds in UK, so that more lives aren't purposely lost.

no not seen any recently, my mum told me that when she was younger she had one called speedy, she had painted 'speedy' on its shell in silver paint and it ran away lol, she was only probly about 11 or 12 years old
