Such a short question for such a long answer. To make it short. #1. Always have their back. You don't have to have their side, but always have their back. IE. Someone's talking bad about your friend, and it's true. Don't agree or disagree, just say, "Look that's my friend we're talking about. I'd prefer if we don't talk about it, ok? Thanks!" That's having their back. #2. Always be willing to apologize when it's your fault, never forget to ask what you can do to make it right, and then do everything you can to make it right again. #3. Never, NEVER, EVEN IF YOU'RE DRUNK!, cross a line in the kissing or sleeping around with them department, unless you're willing to marry or at least make a go at it. If you do cross this forbidden line and it doesn't work, you've lost them, more than likley, forever. I hope this helps!

A good friend is someone that you can be yourself with. You can confide things in them - the good, the bad, the ugly - and it will forever remain between the two of you. A good friend will listen to you when you talk, will offer advice when needed, and will walk with you - holding your hand - when you are traveling down a path of disaster. They will tell you when you're wrong, even though they know you don't want to hear it. They will encourage you to have 'full' vision in situations - enabling you to see the gray areas; instead of 'tunnel' vision - where you see only the black and white matter.

A good friend would never betray you . They would never sleep with your ex, your current, or even someone you've got the slightest interest in. They would never sleep with your brother, or your father. (There are just some things you don't do.)

A good friend always has your back and has only your best interest at heart. If you are lucky enough to find a friend like this......you'd better grab on tight. They are few and far between. Just remember one thing......don't expect more from them than you are willing to give to them in return.

---I surely hope you've found at least one of these friends for yourself. They are our rocks.

a good friend to me, is someone who is always there for you when you really need a friend. when you're hurt, in bed for 2 weeks and call them at 5am crying because you cant take the pain anymore, they're right over with breakfast in bed and a loving hand to comfort you. you can call them any time at all, day or night when you need help or even just someone to talk to. anytime you need help you can always depend on them, for a ride, a place to stay, help moving...and vice versa. It's someone who you can tell anything to in confidence and not have the slightest worry it will ever get out. it's someone who you feel so comfortable with, that you never have to hold back a thought in the world. it's someone that if you go a while without talking to, when you do talk again, everything still feels exactly the same, like you talked yesterday. and if anyone ever disrespects you in their presence, they're right there to defend you full force. a good friend is someone who you truly admire for being so great to you, and who you just cant help but be every bit as good to back.

Honesty, caring, and trust, and if necessary forgiveness, and in my case I think it is always necessary. I am often insincitive to a person's complaints. I think they are just enjoying my sense of humor when in fact they haven't a clue that I am not as smart as I should be. In time it seems I strain the caring, void the trust, and force the honesty to bite me so that I understand how they see me. Hopefully it is not too late but I do find myself making a lot of apologies. Perhaps others are better with this than I, but; the formula works. At least, I hope it does.

Me and my good friend have to be just like eye and hand. When hand is wounded, eye will pour out tears, and when eye pour out tears, hand will wipe away the tears. Helping each other, make each other stronger, supporting each other. One who don't say what we do or say is correct but will tell us what is correct to do or say. One who maybe asks us to try to drink alcohol as we never drink alcohol but then stop us as we have drinked too much. That will make a good friend to me.

Well honey, a good friend is one who support me in whatever I do. One'll encourage me and always be there through thick through thin. Furthermore, someone who tries not to judge, someone who is willing to work things out, etc.

Cheers and have a nice week ahead :)
