All video downloads from YouTube can be possible with the fast and easy VDownloader. You can download it from here:
http://vdownloader.uptodown.com/en/
When your download is done, open the zip file and then the first box that says vdownloader.exe.
Keep both open during your download. Just copy and paste the url of the video you want to download and you'll have the video in your video collection in no time!

I use Zanzar
http://www.zamzar.com/url/
No need for installing software free and easy to use
Just copy and paste in the url of the video clip that you want
Select what type of file you want it in ie 3gp or mp3 etc and enter your email address
It does the work for you and emails you the link to download the file once its done
I have used it 100's of times with no problems .
It even manages to download the videos that I seem to have problems with viewing on youtube
Better than using a sound recorder but here is a free one if thats what you want. Its handy for recording what you are listening to on your pc like live radio etc

Your downloaded youtube vidoe is flv video, you just have to get a flv converter to extract music from flv video to mp3, and then sync it to your iPod with iTunes or burn to your CD. I always use FLV to Video Converter to convert flv to MP3 video, http://www.flvsoft.com/flv_to_video/

Install Firefox if you dont have it already, and download this add-on :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox...
It works a treat, no entering URLs or anything.
To view the clips you will need FLV Player :

ENJOY !
