God knows how long. I got to watch a floppy disk drive get completely destroyed for no good reason in my first 3 weeks at ITT Tech, though. That was fun. Professor told us how pointless they are, and that he wanted to just blast the hell out of one (He was the head of the Engineering/Electronic Principles department) so we took it out behind the building and blew it up.

Also, 3 years ago. My computer has a floppy drive, but the other day when my husband wanted to use it, we found that it wasn't working. Nobody has ever bothered to check.
