Timbaland's real name is Timothy Mosely. He first started out as a DJ called 'Timmy Tim'. However, Tim started working with Missy Elliot and her girl group Sista and when they signed to Devante Swing's record label. Devante 'renamed' Tim 'Timbaland' after the Timberland boot which had become popular in hip-hop fashion. So yes you're right!

It can be quite technical in nature, but it really helps since it covers the musical aspect of singing deeply and not just concentrates on how to impress people with your vocal range, riffs and runs and other cliches that do not necessarily make one a complete vocalist.
