i want maked a linux server and all clints in windows xp and 98 os. its possible?
if i share a folder in linux os with through nfs service,how to acess its window.

Do not use NFS for this. Linux includes the Samba Windows server. Configure it to offer the required folder as a share. If you have installed the Samba Swat program, it gives a very simple web based configuration tool. This needs to be activated in /etc/xinetd.d/smb. You need to set up users in Linux, then in Samba set up the same users and give the users passwords for security.

Yes, NFS is a pricier option in Windows, why don't you use Samba a Linux tool, a pun on the name SMB that's the old name of the networking stuff Windows use to share folders and rather easier to do.

Most versions of linux allow you to browse to the drive and share it.

KDE and Gnome desktops will allow you to do this

by giving the permission to the particular folder ....it can be done via right click on concern folder for we want to make sharablw..
