Why is everyone saying to the girl that said she hadnt felt her bub move much in the last 2 days to go to the ER!!

You normally dont start to feel movements till you are about 20 weeks with your first. I am nearly 23 weeks and i am only JUST starting to feel regular movements and he is a big baby his head measured 2 weeks ahead. I didnt feel bub move yesterday and i only not long ago felt a movement cause i had orange juice otherwise i proberly wouldnt have felt him.

This alarms people when you say go straight to the ER! Regular movement is not felt daily until you are about 25 weeks. I have been told that on here by many people who have answered my questions about movement and also been told by my doctor!! And read it in books!!

I just dont understand why people are saying this.

First of all ppl should stop giving scary opinions. IF they cant give a comfortable answer its better for them to stay quiet and watch what the others are saying. Some ppl just blabber something just to get those 2pts i guess. The answers they give freaks the person who is already in confusion.

I just completed my 25th week yesterday with my second baby. My movement started at the end of 12 weeks. But most of the day baby stays quiet. Though it freaks me at times, i still understand that the baby must be sleeping or in a very comfortable position. I observed this during my scan too.

Some ppl here need to understand the psychology first and then answer the person who is already freaked out!

18 weeks is really early to definitely feel baby movements... loads of mums feel nothing until after 20 weeks... and even then it is a flutter. Don't worry about not feeling it move all the time, this becomes much more important late in pregnancy but not so much now. The movements will become much more noticeable with time. If you are stressed or concerned though, speak to your midwife, it is natural to feel worried when your last pregnancy resulted in a few complications... midwives are brilliant at reassurance even if that is just by having a quick listen to the heart beat. Good luck!! xxx

I have no idea what question you are talking about, but it is true. If she was further along, more like 25 weeks and the baby quit moving for a couple of days then she may want to go to the hospital. Most of the time when the fetus is that small, it will shift positions alot and it it has its back facing your stomach, so that its feet and arms are pointed towards you back, alot of times you wont feel it. It is still very room in there. So yes I agree, no need to panic and go to the E.R.

couldn't agree more...not just with fetal movement questions...I have seen some brutal answers given to people which would no doubt cause panic..whether or not the person means to cause panic...using CAPS is another pet hate of mine...it signifies that the person is shouting! People probably mean well but they really should re-read their answers before submitting.

I found this:

It's 20 years ago that I had my baby, but I always thought you should feel your baby move at least once a day at a certain point of the pregnancy (probably 20 weeks, as you say).

Go back and read it again. She said her baby usually moves alot. When you go from alot of movement to none that is usually something to talk to the doctor about immediately.
