An adaptation of a saying of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. The entire passage reads, “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.”
The meaning of the passage is disputed, but seems generally to be that the followers of Jesus should pass his message on to those most likely to accept it.
Generally, to “cast pearls before swine” is to share something of value with those who will not appreciate it.

That means do not give something to a person that will not appreciate it in the first place. However, the best application of this principle is this: "don't give your words of wisdom to the people who will not listen or appreciate what you say". When you give it, they will just shrug it off, and still do their own thing.
In a Biblical context, when Jesus Christ said these words, He's referring to "pearls" as the Word of God, don't give God's Word to people who will not embrace God's Word, don't give Godly advices to people who will reject it. Like swine, they will just "step on the pearls", meaning they don't know what's the value of God's Word.

Your Pearls are your words and your time , before swine means those people who would waste what you have given them, they trample over the counsel you have given them and waste the time you spend with them.

Things of value can not be seen when thrown into the midst of those not worth the casting....this is from the Bible. It is trying to say if your morals and character are of worth do not expect to have it recognized if you waller with rift raft that do not posses your values. They will not see or realize the value....because they are like swine and you the pearl.

Pigs (Slothy unappreciative people) Will not know what a pearl is, so you should not waste time and energy attempting to dress it up in them.
In short- Don't try to make a person out to be better than they are.

It means that we should not share our inmost, most precious spiritual experiences with those who are unbelievers or those we would expect to criticize them.
If you have ever had that experience, then you know how painful it is. It is like, hungry "pigs turning on us and rendering us to bits".
