In alot of the newer vehicles the oil light flashes when it is low and also when it is time to change it, if it is full and you have changed it recently, you will need to disconnect the red (+) wire from your battery for about 30 sec. then reconnect it and tighten, this process will reset the the cars computer.

we call this light on you dash an "idiot light", it's so that you don't forget to check your oil from time to time. I'd say your wiring has a short and that causes the light to stay on. If the light bugs you just have the wiring riped out but don't forget to check the oil once every 10 days or so.

your oil light will come on if your low on oil because the pump starts sucking air or if you have a idle problem because the pump isn't turning fast enough to pump oil or if you have a bad rod , main, or cam bearing or damaged hydraulic lifter because the pressure is leaking down to fast. If your lucky you have bad sending unit.

What does the light mean, low oil level or low oil pressure? if it's low pressure there could be oil pump problems which your oil level won't show. If it's showing low oil level then your sensor probably needs replacing.

I would take it to the dealership and if you dont need an oil change, maybe you just need to reset the computer. That is how my car is, when they change the oil they have to reset something in it so it does not keep telling me to change the oil.

i think it senses oil pressure not the amount of oil in your car. no clue what that actually means though.

You oil pump may have failed, or your oil pressure sensor has failed.
