What worked best for your baby?? I need some advice. I've done everything my peiatrician told me to do and people still tell me I'm doing wrong. My son is not gaining weight due to the reflux. So he is on cereal, in the bottle, thats the only thing working at the moment. He will not eat from a spoon yet. Trust me, Ive tried for weeks and the pediatrician said he's definately not ready. What else am I supposed to do? He is very underweight right now due to the reflux. I just started the cereal 5 dyas ago. If its working, he has no more projectile vomiting, no more screaming and he has an appetite now. Then what else should I do? I mean if people keep telling me how bad it is to give him cereal, then please tell me what I'm supposed to do. His doctor will NOT put him on meds because of other health issues. So please to the people who keep telling me not to do it, then you tell me what else to do. He has to keep his formula down due to poor weight gain, and hes finally keeping it down.

The only other option is to take him off the cereal and let him be in pain. And I will NOT do that.

Keep doing what you are doing. The people that tell you that you are doing wrong more than likely have never been in your shoes. This is the best way without giving him meds. My mum had do do the same with me when I was a baby and was advised to do so. You are doing what is best for YOUR son

Dont stop the cereal. My daughter had reflux and had to have cereal in order to keep the food in her. You do what the doctor says not what other people think you should or should not do. Some people think they know everything just because of their own experiences with their own children. Not every child is the same so you cant treat them all the same.

my son is the same way he was gaining very little weight when we left the hospital but was not under weight. he has had rice cereal in his bottles since 8 weeks and has been on soy since 8 weeks. ask his doctor about trying soy formula. my son is also on zantac but because he has out grown most of his reflux i only do the cereal. they say by the time they can sit up they outgrow the spitting up. my son is crawling know and when he started crawling he spit up less.

Keep him on the cereal if it's working and your doctor recommended it. Anyone that tells you different doesn't know your situation. Just ignore them or tell them off.
