The fact that there are significant differences in rankings between computer formulae and human decision, is not surprising and I am OK with it. The real problems I see are:
1. Those strange "jumps" like you mentioned, BC jumping from 7 to 1 without playing.
2. Some rankings that look as if they are a result of a software bug, e.g. Virginia cavaliers at #6 ahead of Oregon (#9) and Oklahoma (#14) whereas when you compare results (all of them have one loss and Virginia won mostly by very small margins) and schedule it is obvious that something here is wrong.

Well, Richard Billingsley's poll is a total freaking joke. Here's his top 10 this week:
1. LSU
2. BC
3. OSU
4. USC
5. WVU
6. Florida
7. USF
8. Kentucky
9. ASU
10. Michigan
He's got Oregon (who absolutely demolised Michigan in Ann Arbor) at 13, behind Virginia Tech and Oklahoma, while only one other poll has them that low (Sagarin, the others have them at either 5 or 6). Has he even paid attention to what's gone on this year? I like USC, but #4?
Two other polls have Kansas at #4. Have they seen their schedule?
I don't necessarily always agree with the human polls either, but some of the computer ones are whacked out right now.

The BCS has flaws for sure. I am not sure the Coaches Poll is the best device to measure a team. the coaches never really even have time to watch other teams. The AP should be moved in the equation.

another reason the bcs is junk, need a playoff or put the ap back into action, if their poll doesnt count why still have them, coaches poll always bias because they r pretty much told to vote for whos unbeaten, how can they watch all the games when they have their own, and the usa is media pulled, they pick fav it seems plus what do they know about sports they report it, but its all we got and its junk

Oklahoma #14? Are you kidding me? Someone is manipulating that computer. It is worse than ever. Oklahoma is rated no lower than #4 on any other poll. I could even see 5-6, but #14?

unusual you requested that. I purely offered a clean, high priced, chair. The arm is purely some million/2 inch decrease than my previous chair and my arm is beginning as much as injury from being on the incorrect attitude.
