Factors of:

12(a-b) are ; 2, 3, 4, 6, 12, a-b, 2(a-b), 3(a-b), 4(a-b), 6(a-b), and 12(a-b)

Factors of;
18(a-b) are: 2, 3, 6, 9, 18, a-b, 2(a-b), 3(a-b), 6(a-b), 9(a-b), and 18(a-b).

Factors of 20(a-b) are: 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, a-b, 2(a-b), 4(a-b), 5(a-b), 10(a-b), and 20(a-b).

Common Factors are; 2, a-b, and 2(a-b).

hence the GCF = 2(a-b).

Since all the terms can be divided by (a-b), and the GCF of 12, 18, 20 is 2, the GCF of the three terms is 2(a-b).

12(a-b)=2*2*3*(a-b)
18(a-b)=2*3*3*(a-b)
20(a-b)=2*2*5*(a-b)

The common factor should exist in each term.
GCF=2(a-b)
