My grandfather built a dollhouse for me when I was a baby. I recently found it in my Dad's attic but it needs work.. my ex stepmother glued popsicle sticks to the floor and glued mirrors and wooden cutouts to the walls. I really want to just strip it and start over, make it the way he had it.. What type of tools/solvents/supplies will I need?? Any ideas for themes?? Thanks to all who answer, this means a lot to me:)

Your best bet may be to use a hair dryer since many kinds of glue will soften with sufficient heat. It would be best to know what type of glue your ex-grandmother used though so you could try something else if that didn't work, and if you couldn't just cut off those parts, or pry them up (with slot screwdrivers or wood-chisels, etc.).
You could also instead just *cover* some of those things up (or any you couldn't get off) with another floor or another decorative item, etc.

Since you want it to honor your grandfather, you'll get the most out of creating it in a style and with furnishings/decorations *he* would have liked... or use a style and furnishings/decorations that remind you of your relationship with him (things you did together, stuff you might have in common, and also things that might stand for the feelings you have for him).
Btw, this is an extremely useful thing to do when in grief. It really helps to put one's feelings into something concrete and that exists "out there" in the world... also just the fact of going to the trouble of doing something like that itself honors him.

oh what fun. i would stick to the hair dryer, it isn't as easy to get burnt on. the heat should be enough to soften the glue to scrape it off. i personally think it would be awesome to decorate the house in the most poplar design from the year it was made for you. you didn't mention your age so i'm not sure where to tell you to go from there.

If I was to start this project I would first use a hair dryer or heat gun and see if heat would soften the the glue.

Good luck and have a ball.
