clarification i don't wear pants.

Check the inside of one of the pant legs of any pants that may have been in the dryer with the socks.

It probably went to the same place where my socks go--
to sock heaven. We fold the laundry and always a missing
sock. Either that-OR-the washer is at fault--the sock eater!!
