I'm wondering how I can kill the Kudzo vines that have flooded a cemetery near my home. I'm thinking burning would really do the best job, especially now that winter is coming and the plants will turn brown however, can i do that without damaging the gravestones? Its hard for you to even see the gravestones which is why i want to do something about it. It really is a shame that families don't care about where their people were burried anymore. What can I do? The cemetery is fairly large. HELP!

Spray them with Roundup....but that should be done during a period of growth, not dormancy. You'll have to spray them all the way back to the point where they start growing in order to completely kill it. If you're in the South, though, it will likely come back. You can burn it if you wish, but you might damage the headstones and it will probably just come back again next year. Good Luck!! :)

Please don't damage the stones as I'm already having a hard time reading the dates on them while doing my Family Tree. I also enjoy landscaping on my own personal property. I know those kudzu plants are a pain in the buttocks. Sorry, but you have to do this the hard way. That means you have to cut them down and then dig up the roots, take them elsewhere and burn them. You'll thank me every fall from here on out, as this permanently destroys them and you didn't use any chemicals. Besides, it's not nice to kill in a cemetery...

Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy this liquid stuff called "Round-up" it's in a sprayer type bottle. It works great.

Don't burn. Headstones will crack.
Backpack sprayer, lots of Round-Up poison ivey formula. Mix double strong.
Remove vines and as many roots as you can when dead.
