is the following a good topic to talk about?

Recently, paleontologists dug up an entire frozen mammoth in Siberia. A man in England wants to clone it and create a living specimen.

There's a huge moral dilemma in this beyond the simple care factors involved, which are iffy, i.e. what are you going to feed this creature, where to house it, etc.

what do you think? and how should i persuade about this?

You need to attack the arguements of the opponents of this man.

There are negative morals in cloning humans, but animals. You can't possibly say that God is going to be mad we cloned an animal that exhisted in the past. If we can keep elephants in a zoo, we can do the same to a mammoth. As to what to feed it; it shouldn't be to far too hard to figure out what it would normally eat. And if this person wants to clone it, certainly he has the resources to be able to afford all sorts of different foods to find out what it wants to eat, and unless I'm mistaken, the whole reason he wants to clone it is to find out more about it. right? so he'd want to find out about it's diet anyway. As long as it's taken care of properly and treated well, not put under horrible experiments, then it should be perfectly legal and morraly right.

wow! That could be totally fun. I would offer existing concepts of cloning and show examples from, say, Jurassic Park. Then show how it is a bad thing and how tapping into this kind of technology could ultimately kill people and such. And also talk about moral situations with creating a life long lost -- etc.

Its all about relating it to something bad ( or good ) and clearly showing how and what the problem with it is and why you are against it.

Hope this helps!

It depends on what side you are on. Are you in favor of the cloning or not? What are you trying to persuade?
