Well, I am originally from India and have found Americans quite welcoming, for the most part. The most hostility I received was from the INDIAN community in the U.K when I visited. Some (not all) East Indians are ill mannered and rude and this is responsible for creating a bad image. Go with an open mind and do not ascribe every setback to racism.
Sometimes I feel quite ashamed, after witnessing the kind of things immigrants do. Trash up India if you want, but don't trash up every country you visit.

I live in Alaska (in the U.S.) and I have never noted any racism against Indian immigrants.
My nephew was in college in Michigan (in the U.S.) and met an Indian man and became best friends with him. He did not see any racism at the college in Michigan either.

Most of the people here in the states are not smart enough to differinciate between Arabs and Indians... Most of them think the immagrants from India are terrorists.
Hindu terrorists... thats kind of funny!!

Very well, you are all so well- mannered & remember Americans find your accent amusing- in a good way- don't take it the wrong way- I love the way my friends from India talk.
(Oh, and btw (by the way), at first when you said Indian I thought of Native Americans.)

I think they're interesting and intelligent for the most part. Some of their food is VERY spicy, though, and VERY spicy smelling.
