Blind adherrence and loyalty to their self-annointed "messiah" is one underlying factor as Bush claims that "God speaks to him." Even in the face of indisputable facts, these "28 percenters" will always cling to him. They hear, speak, see no "evil."

It is shocking that anyone still approves of Bush's presidency.
By going to war with Iraq he has done more to make America and our allies less safe than we were before Sept 11. He is the worst president we have ever had. He should be impeached for his lies and deceptions. I hope America shakes the fog of fear and lies off, and we get someone with vision and integrity in the presidency next.

It's called "cognitive dissonance," a process in which the brain suppresses disturbing information which challenges core beliefs.
a quote:
"Gross cognitive dissonance. A mass Stepford complex among Bush's masses. Legions of people who get their news from a discredited source, who are unable to confront the fact that they are being used and manipulated (see Thomas Frank’s “What’s Wrong With Kansas”). These same people ascribe mainstream positions and beliefs to their leader contrary to the facts almost as if they are in denial that they fully support a man who is an extremist. As time goes on, their faith in and support of that leader grow so hardened, again stoked by a reinforcing and assistive media, that many of the masses begin imitating the characteristics of their leader, in that they believe they are infallible, more righteous than their peers, and are unwilling to admit error or facts contrary to their beliefs.
In other words, a cult."

Don't let the ratings on these Yahoo! Answers boards fool you - the Bushbots have a demented energy which belies their actual numbers. The percentage of support for Bush is now down to something like 24%.

I love our president. I do feel that he has been wrong on some issues. Especially the border and wanting to help out illegal aliens. I do think that he is very brave and true to his word, which is something almost all other politicians have a hard time doing. Our economy is good, our unemployment rates are at a very low percentage, and we haven't been plagued by the terrorism (since 9/11) that the rest of the world is facing. Our president understands the real threat out there today. Terrorism, and crazy mofo's that want to see us dead.

Most people don't, just the religious fkkkheads and the rich.
And those who just don't know any better.
This country would have a better chance surviving a full scale nuclear war than another republican president.

Yep, he's doing a great job standing up to the Islamofascists who want to kill us and to the leftist liberals who want to undermine traditional American values.
God bless America and her President George W. Bush!!!
