Okay, I guess I'm a few months late, but did a woman really put her baby in a microwave?

The articles say that a woman in Texas, Virginia, and Ohio all put their newborns in microwaves. I never heard about that on the news. They say that the case in Texas was a woman had a restraining order against the husband, yet left the newborn girl with him. His excuse was, get this, he was making coffee and tripped. What does that have to do with a newborn in a microwave? Another woman said that God told her to put a baby in the oven. Did these things really happen? Are these people sick? They said this happened back in 2006 and May of this year. When the police got there, one of the babies was badly burned and unconscious. Why do these people go out and have babies? And get this, one woman only got 5 years in prison. She's out now though. What's wrong with people?

I'm a soon-to-be first time father, so you can imagine how a story like this sits with me. My wife works at a hospital, so unfortunately I hear first hand how sick and evil parents can treat their children. The saddest thing of all..the microwave story isn't what I'd call uncommon, I've heard this story far to many times. Mentally ill, deranged, angry, tired, spiteful, revengeful..whatever....none of these are reasons to so much as pinch your child or baby, let alone take their life away. People may disagree with me on this, but I think capitol punishment should be carried out against perpetrators of child/baby death, instantaneously after they're found guilty by a court of law. Children/babies should be given and provided every chance to be happy and survive in this world. To slight them of that opportunity is inhumane. Our legal system is far to lenient on these people..if crimes against children carried a severe sentance (including capitol)..I think the chances of it happening would be greatly reduced.

That is so utterly incomprehensible! How disturbing. I read the other day that a man was arrested for putting his 10 month old son in the deep freezer. I just can't believe things like this happen. It may not have been drugs, she may have had postpartum depression. In some people it can cause psychotic thoughts and actions. This should be a lesson to anyone who has children to get help if they are thinking ANYTHING strange about harming themself or their loved ones, unfortunately a lot of people don't think they will do something bad until it's too late. I don't know where our world is headed, but I get more scared everyday.

i heard about the baby in the oven, but i didn't hear about the baby in the microwave, i think that would have to be a kind of big microwave to put a baby inside. i dont think u can put on in mine, mines to small...but anywho...people are just sick, why would u want to hurt someone...ANYONE!? i just dont get it...some people just need help

wow , that is one freaky story . honestly if god told me to hurt my baby i wouldnt listen. how awful. in the microwave? i really hope that is a myth.

I didn't hear about it but if that's true those women need to have their insides removed so they can't have children....That's disgusting and crazy
