I have to write a 3-page story that has something to do with an epidemic. It could be completely fictional, and it shouldn't be based on an actual historical event. The story needs to have a moral, rising action, and falling action. I want the protagonist to be a girl named Susie. I can't think of an antagonist. Anyone have any plot ideas?

Have you thought about making it sort of a silly epidemic, like example totally is like people telling lies like pinocchio so there noses grow ...... so totally a bad idea but you get the point, figure if you want it sort of silly with a moral, like a fable, or more like 28 days later, u ever seen that movie? the epidemic was the zombie people but the moral or viewpoint i guess in this case was who were the real monsters, the zombies, or the things people would resort to in order to keep themselves alive, like killing an innocent child or something, creepy.... decide the direction you want to take it in....is this due tomorrow, lol? it not, take some time to develop it

A good antagonist could be a stubborn, or morally corupt scientist. He/she could have spread the disease, or facilitated its delivery, or something like that. I think that might come off as a little trite though.

I personally would consider writing from a different perspective. For example you could write from the disease/epidemic's perspective, describing how it devours people, and spreads. This would allow for a particularly vivid use of imagery, but I'm partial to violence and gore (being a guy, and all). Thats just a suggestion though.

You have an opportunity to be very creative here. Clive Barker wrote a horror epidemic story where peoples' hands severed themselves and crawled around without any attached bodies. The visual imagery of thousands of disassociated hands crawling around was absolutely horrendous.

All of the epidemic diseases are actual historical events. If you can't use one of those you will have to make one up.
