Marijuana should be legalized. I have never known anyone to go out and kill their mother or brother over it. Marijuana brings a pleasant euphoria to people and with Aids patients it increases thier appetite. The problem with this whole picture is the by keeping it illegal the crooked government is able to ensure that the price is kept higher.
If you think about it everything that is from the earth, water, and trees is for human consumption if prepared properly. Before the world became more civilized this is what the primative people lived on and it did not hurt them. When man takes nature and turns it into something else is when it becomes harmful. Take for instance the Cocaine leaf. The native South American people actually chew the cocain leaf for endurance and as a social past-time. It is the "man" that goes and takes what used to be natural and turns it into to something it should not be, making it harmful, just for a quick buck.

Cannabis is a relatively benign, non-addictive, non-toxic herb with a documented history of use that stretches back thousands of years. It has been used successfully as a fiber for clothing, a foodstuff, a fuel, a medicine, a spiritual aid, and simply for relaxation and recreation.

No civilized nation makes war against a plant, especially one as useful as Cannabis. Get informed. Get active. We can change unjust and cruel laws.

Opium is a natural herb, I suppose you are for it, too.
Marijuana can and does lead to harder and more serious drugs. Because after awhile, you system builds up a tolerence to it and the body craves something stroger to produce a better high, so the user turns to something with just a little more kick.
I'm very against marijuana.
The only legal uses for Opium
is to make sedatives and pain killers,
morphine sulfate is very addictive,
however, cancer patients would rather
have the addiction than the pain.
Marijuana is just as deadly as cigarettes,
they both will give you cancer if you smoke it
and it can kill you just as fast
with second hand smoke, as well.
If you are seeking to die,
just step out in front of a train.

It's ridiculous to say ppl who smoke pot will go on to stronger stuff. That's like saying ppl who drink beer will try liquor or stronger alcholic drinks. Anything can and will be abused by ppl with no self control and that includes food. It's not the substance it's the user. I smoked tons of pot in my life and never had the urge to move on to other drugs and it's not only me coz I have friends that did exactly the same thing. Alchol is far more used and abused than pot. It's just that those ppl that have never smoked it have put the 'taboo' label on it and there are tens of millions of alcholics in the US on the highways putting ppl in danger every day and pot smokers are at home on their couch chillin. Give me a break! I have done both and i would much rather be a pot head than a damn drunk!

Marijuana is NOT a big deal but the gov't is more concerned about the impression it would give if they legalized marijuana. The gov't is scared it would be seen as "giving up on drugs." And for that reason it feels it has to hold steadfast to their position.

Marijuana is not much safer than alcohol. Marijuana impairs your ability to operate a motor vehicle just like alcohol does. The reason it seems as alcohol is more dangerous is because it is more widely used than marijuana, therefore more people are killed by alcohol-impaired drivers than marijuana-impaired drivers.

Both substances are dangerous when abused. I believe alcohol and tobacco should be illegal as well. As a police officer, it is quite annoying to see how many people abuse these sunstances.

You set the "natural herb" on fire and suck the smoke into your mouth, throat, and lungs. Those dire warnings on cigarette packs apply to your "natural herb" as well.

Where did you ever get the idea that being intoxicated on a drug was any safer than being intoxicated on alcohol??

It's harmful. Also people put angel dust and mix it with other drugs that make it dangerous. But by itself, it's probably no more life threatening than smoking 2 or 3 packs of cigarettes a day.

It should not be illegal.

It's the liberals who are in favor of the government telling us how to live. People should run their own lives.

Pot was legal in 1776 and should be now.
