I'm staying in Holiday Inn Hotel at San Jose, Silicon Valley Blvd. Wish to pay one day visit to San Francisco through any public transport such as bus.

Hi,
Take Cal-Train it's a straight shot right downtown San Francisco. This should take you about 1.5 hours. Check train departure times to San Jose I know there is a 9PM train and one at 11PM, don't know if the 12 Mid-night train still runs.
As you leave the train station, remember it's at 3rd and King. Walk the short block to the Muni Line "N" Judah. For a $1.25 you will get to any part of the City with your transfer. Ride the Muni to the Embarcadero. It's underground. Come up to the surface you are now at the end of Market Street. You can take the Cable-Car ride, $5.00, however, the transfer is good for any Muni Ride the rest of the day. The Cable-Car will take you up the Chinatown, the Fairmont Hotel and out the VanNes. You can transfer at Powell and take the Powell Street Cable-Car out to the Wharf.
Your other option is take the Muni "F" Line on Market right at the Hyatt to the Wharf, it stops at Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf.
If you'd like more details email me.
Have Fun...
