I don't described as old clothes. Some doesn't fit me anymore. I usually pass it on to my relatives and friends who like and doesn't matter wearing second-hand items. There was a time when I gave a bag full to victims of fire in need.

Donate them to the salvation army. In my town, we have several, but the one in the poorer neighborhood doesn't get very good stuff, because it's own neighborhood is supporting it with donations. If they're nice clothes, I suggest you donate them to the salvation army in the poorer neighborhood.

I travel annually to Brazil & take all my old clothes to give away to the poor there

Give them to friends or family if I can, if not then I give them to a place like Goodwill. At least someone will get a good use out of them.

take them to a local consignment shop....it's 60/40...they sell it and keep 60% I get 40%...It just gives me extra money and gets rid of old clothes....whatever doesnt sell goes to a woman's shelter

lol i leave all my clothes in my closet and pick ones that i like lol. i dont go through them and throw out clothes i wear and dont wear, and even if i do i usually give it to my cleaning lady. but cleaning my closet is absolutely rare! i have shirts in their from like 8th [12th grade now lol]. its cool to go back and see waht u used to wear and what u wear now lol.
