Well, the last time we took the cycle out, after some time I must add, my leg muscles were killing me. The other half had put on sooo much weight around his middle that he had to sit back further on the seat which didnt leave much room for my skinny butt so I had to use all my staying power to..wel..stay on the seat. Walking wasnt much fun either for a couple of days, BUT to answer your Q, yes, theres something about being out on the bike.

Yep! sure is. ride a pushbike. only know about "real ones" from a passengers point of view. other half used to race side-cars on dirt track tho technically that's actually 3 wheels, dad used to race dirt track - 'scramblers' I think they used to call them, plus have friends who over the years who have either had road bikes, trail bikes or both - & sadly ...we can't have fun all the time....apart from age catching up with us, we have to think logically of the safety factors - as parents we tend to become protective & it's rather amusing in an odd/warped or ironic kind of way concidering some of the crazy things we "may or may not of" got up to...lol. Though still, nothing beats the wind in your face, the need for speed or the sore/numb butt you get from long road trips/adventures.
ps...H-man...shame on you!.. or is that shame on me? because I'm thinking what I think your thinking and implying.

Two wheels can be fun, but the my car just doesn't handle well at all that way, so I just stick to four.

Yes,but make sure the front wheel is locked in place is on a balanced wheel stand.
You don't want one of those side leaning ones as you could topple of it in the middle of one.
Mrs S/E will wonder how you broke it off next time you have to service her.

I'm with 'ausblue' on this!!
My 17 yr old wants a motorbike....... but my 3 brothers have all had serious accidents on bikes. . . . and I just don't want to go there.
Only one brother rides now........ but it's a Harley, and he's on his 4th now.... arrghhhhh and he races professional.
'Murder on wheels', that's what they are.
I must admit though, I love trail biking.
