In ancient Greece only adult land owning men had any sort of freedom. While it oppressive by modern standard, women's lives were basically limited to raising children. Women didn't attend the Theater in ancient Greece, let alone participate in it.

Theatre was a religious event and only men were allowed to practice religion. Women were considered lesser beings from men. It was their culture, like Islam has always been.

I usually carry large purses unless I go out at night.I always can't find a thing in my purse at the time I look for it. There are some many things in it!!!! My wallet, cell phone, tampons, keys that I don't even know what they open,wet handkerchiefs,dry handkerchiefs,a small perfume,hand cream,moisturizing lotion,glasses, sun glasses,pain killers, I can go on......Do you want more??Yia sou.

They probably weren't allowed. In those times women were considered as nothing they were possessions, slaves. They had no privileges.

because back then acting was lying.
and lying was a sin.

so if a girl did it, it would be a double sin because women were held up on a pedestal.
does that make sense? haha
