Don't put this off any further! If the poor child has an ear infection, he is in excruciating pain and needs medical attention like yesterday! Take him to the Doctor and if he can't be seen right away, go to a walk in clinic. This poor child is suffering unnecessarily. Of course it is not normal!!!

Ear infection! go to the store and buy saline drops. Or you can buy ear ache drops at a natural store. Saline drops always worked with my daughter. You can also go to the dr to fid out for sure and get a perscription for antibiotics
And yes sleeping that much is Very noromal. Infants should sleep up to 16 hours of the day. Try reading Healthy Sleeping Habits happy Baby. Its a great book every parent should read.

I would take him to a doctor asap! Sounds like an ear infection and a virus combo.

I'm betting he has an ear infection or that he may be teething. Either way, you better get him to the doc just to rule out the ear infection because he'll need antibiotics for that. ;-)

lil ones like to sleep. him putting his hand on his head might mean a ear infection, take him to the doctors. ear infections usually do not have fevers. rather be safe then sorry.

Your little one could be having headaches and the amount of sleep sounds normal but I would have this sweet little thing checked out just to make sure he is not having headaches.
That would suck to have them and not be able to tell anyone..
Hope this helps.
