Hey, man, you are entirely tooooo uptight.
Lay back, have a toke and chill. A memorial to Woodstock is a cooooooool idea!
Seriously--it is a good idea. Whether you are particualrly "for" or "against" events like Woodstock,it was an important cultural milestone--and part of our history. In addition, most americans do value its cultural significance, even if you disagree.
And from an economic standpoint, its a no-brainer--a memorial willl attract tourist s and generate tax revenues way in excess of the investment.

Yes, sadly, she and others rubber stamped money in a budget to earmark 1,000,000 for a Woodstock museum. Donors gave a lot of money, but the gov't wanted to kick in an extra million.
This is why people hate socialism: You give money to a big fund (taxes) and someone responsible decides who needs it most. But, every politician sees the money and takes some for stupid things like this. They don't think it is a big deal, because it is not their money.
It is strange that the hippies hated the U.S. government so much, yet it is the same government that feels obligated to give them money, honoring their hatred. Strange!
If you have been in Washington over 12 years, you should not be voted back in office. Go get a real job and suffer like the rest of us!

While Hillary moved left over 10 mil from Senate to
President piggy bank she has debts. Promoting NY,
under the disguise of tourism...
It was a social event. But better served like a library...
the one in Arkansas where they got millions ... but
tax payer money for a Wood Stock Museum.?Sounds
like purple haze to me.

Why the heck do we need a Woodstock memorial?
I'd rather have the bridge to nowhere built in Alaska.

It's about economic development. The LOCAL government will use bonds to help a foundation to build a Center for the Performing Arts. It will help the local economy. Woodstock is a natural magnet for tourists. This will cash in on a local landmark. I would think capitalists would be all for this. Of course it does kind of disprove your Hillary is a socialist bs.

It's another perfect example of government waste. This is not the tax payers responsibility to fund this so called "museum." If the people of New York really want this thing, maybe the hippies should put all their pennies together and build it themselves without looking for the typical handout from the government.

I think they should give it to the Folsom Street Fair committee for next year's poster.

Woodstock was a disgrace and should be forgotten, not memorialized. Of course, most of those who were there can only remember bits and pieces because of the amount of pot, acid or other drugs they used.

Let's look at it the way a Republican would. It'll create a lot of wealth for the contractors. If you were Bush funding Blackwater, could you disagree with that?
