just answered some ones question about conformity, tyranny, irrationalities in our society and felt that this was a brother or sister that needed to step out side the box because we will spend so much time in pine box that getting sucked societies box is death before death... having a life and living is good and beautiful ! what do you think? in spite of all the crap

I have to first address the comment about TAXES. Taxes in our country are only collected from those who have benefited from our society. If you have not acquired some amount of wealth you don't have to pay any taxes. Yes I know that the extremely wealthy are not paying their fair share of taxes but when I compare life for the majority of people in the United States of America to the life of people in other countries we have it pretty good. I guess it comes down to what is important to you. I measure the quality of my life by the things I am able to do for others. Like most people in this country I have a job and I think of myself in relationship to my job. I have almost reached the point in my life when I will retire. I have had to think about myself without my job. I have been married to the same wonderful person for almost 40 years. We raised 2 daughters who have become capable adults. Both are profesionals and each has married and after establishing a stabile relationship in their marriages each gave birth to a son. Many other good things have happened in my life but I have limited time to answer your question. The crap in my life has been almost losing my wife to medical problems and coming to the realization that I will outlive her. My attitude may change then but I still will have my daughters and grandchildren so maybe I will still find it worthwhile staying in this world.

The last several years have been sometimes, "a living hell' for my family.
But in spite of all of the crap, I still cannot help but feel such joy when surrounded by the beautiful call of a loon, or a breath of wind on my cheek. The rustle of leaves in the trees, with the sound of the birds singing their songs leaves me knowing that there IS still magic and beauty in the world.
