Corals are an "attached" animal, at least in the adult stage. The larvae (when they reproduce sexually) are free-swimming.
They are capable of stinging, as well as producing chemicals to keep other corals from growing too close (this prevents competition for food and sunlight, because most corals have a photosynthetic algae within them which produces part of their food supply.
Besides aggression, you also need to know something about feeding, water flow preferences (strong, light, or moderate), lighting needs, etc.
Some have soft bodies and others build an internal calcium skeleton. Soft corals are generally easier to keep, especially the "mushrooms".
There are entire books written about keeping corals, so there's way too much info to go into any great detail here. imagine coral as a beautiful saltwater venus fly trap. it alive and is kind of like a plant but some can also grab food. by agressive they probably mean it grows fast, or they're try to poke ur eyes

Certain coral can't live with others. Soft coral is the best beginner coral. You have to have strong lights to help the coral live. Most feed off the light to help it grow. Good coral that can live together is mushrooms, lettuce, cabbage,Xenia, finger, etc. This rule applies to anemones also, you can't put two carpet together, nor two con dies etc. They will fight with each other. Corals and anemones both have the ability to move anywhere about your tank, without you moving them. They are alive.
