40hrs a week in a job?
thats crazy..thats insane! i admire those who do it like my dad or my mom... its crazy!
how can they do it???
i think and think about it but i cant understand it.
When i worked at dennys for 6hrs everyday i was going crazy!!
i would ask to get out early because its insane!
now i cant keep a job not because im lazy because im a full time student.. but its insane!!!!!

I like the idea of having a roof over my head, food in the fridge, paying the bills, wearing clothes, and oh, yeah- my kids like all those things too!

Somedays I ask myself that question, but then I turn on my lights, and heater, take a hot shower, and breakfast.
Then get in my truck to go to the office. By the time I get there my question is answered!!!
Also I remember 10 years ago when it was almost always only 8 hours a day. Now I am very lucky to have 2 eight hour days a week. The rest are 10, 11, or 12 hours. Good luck to you, hope you make it !!!!

I agree with Lonewolf...responsibility. You say you're a full time student, even full time students hold full time jobs. Someone has to pay the tuition. Try this, force yourself to get up early a couple of times. Take a shower and go for a short walk. You should feel somewhat awake and energized. Make a habit, you'll get used to it.

Ideally, the career you have is something you like a bit more than serving pancakes. So that should help. Of course, you may hate your "adult" job just the same amount as your Denney's gig. But it beats starving/having the lights shut off/being evicted/having the credit card people threaten you every day/shopping at Goodwill for underpants.

...Okay. It's really not that insane but if you say so. They can work 40 hours a week, 8 hours a day because bills need to be paid and food needs to be eaten.

I work 40 hrs a week cause if I dont then my bills dont get payed, I dont eat, I dont have a place to live,and I cant enjoy life. You'll learn one day that you need to do it to support yourself just like the rest of us. Mommy and daddy wont take care of you forever you know. Once you do finish school and realize you need to work ,then you'll realize what the rest of us deal with everyday.

I would love 40 hours a week I work 50+
Either work or live on the street, that's how we do it

key is to have a job you like. i worked full time, went to school full time and had a business of my own on the side. didn't seem so bad because i enjoyed all of it. couldn't believe i actually got paid by people to do things i liked anyway.

it's not a choice it's the only way to get enough money. believe me anyone would take time and freedom over work but who's gonna pay for food to eat?
