My back has never been in tip top shape to begin with but now here I am in my last trimester and there isn't one day that my back isn't killing me. I told my OB about it and said I'd been advised by family to try walking to help with the pain and he said that would make it worse. But he failed to tell me what would make it better. Any suggestions?

For my aching back I do cat stretches on my bed. On all fours arch your back up, hold it and then let it drop down to stretch both ways.

Do you have someone who could give you a nice lower back massage?

Also try a warm lavendar and chamomile bath.

Fill a tube sock halfway with rice and tie off the end. Heat it up in the microwave for 1-2 minutes and use as a heat pack on your back. Or soak in a warm tub, or get a shower with a massage head where you can focus the water on the sore spot. You can also try getting on your hands and knees and alternate arching your back up like a cat, then let your belly sink down and round your back in the opposite direction.

Hopefully one of those things helps a little. Unfortunately, some women just have a lot of back pain in later pregnancy and there's not much you can do about it until baby comes.

Good luck!

Wow that is a tough one. Tylenol is about the only pain medicine you can take. Just try to stay off your feet as much as possible. Also, when you do have to be on your feet, take breaks. I know my back hurts me the worse when I am washing dishes or vacuuming so maybe enlist in some help with those things too.

Try to sleep on your side with your leg over one of those big body pillows. It seemed to work for my wife. Good Luck!

Nothing will make it feel better until you have the baby.
