the mean is what most people just call the "average" but in maths there are various types of average. to find the mean you add all the numbers and divide by how many numbers there are. in this case, 4.5+5.8+3.2=13.5. 13.5/3=4.5
a square is a four sided shape with all sides the same length and intersecting at right angles (90 degrees) so the area will be 9*9=81m^2. that's why any number times itself is called "squaring" it
