Gasoline(petro) burns too fast for a diesel and will pound holes in the pistons. If you got 20 km,and it still seems OK I presume that the tank was mostly still holding deisel. Drain the tank and consider yourself lucky.

Engine Age? Did it Die? Does it have a Turbo? Change the Fuel Filter, Drain the Fuel Tank, Flush the Fuel Lines and Injector Pump!

If there is no Engine or Injector Damage You're Lucky! After you do all the Above and get it started, if it blows Black Smoke (Unburnt Fuel) you may have Burnt An Injector Tip Off or Damaged the Turbo!

Good Luck!

Just FILL it with diesel ASAP, and fill it again after a half tank.
