I prefer to tell people the truth.... telling them what they want to hear helps no one.

Sometimes you need to tell some one what they want to hear so that you can cheer them up. Bit i tell the truth most of the. time

It took me years to learn to do just that. I also found it useful to sometimes be silent. Sometimes even the truth is inappropriate.
I never use the truth to hurt people.
