The thermostat on your car is located on the engine, in the thermostat housing where the lower hose is clamped on. It is behind the AC compressor and you might also have a motor mount in the way on the 3.5. This is not a 5 minute job, and you also have to follow a refill procedure on this one or you will trap air in it and still have a problem with your cooling system. These thermostats take almost 2 hours to replace in a shop with the right tools. Not something I would try at home or without a lift.

Let me guess-- you have an overheat problem and you are changing the thermostat--right ? That won't work so next will be the water pump---right ? that won't help so we are stumped. The thermostat won't solve the problem. If I am right and you have overheat you need to go to a RADIATOR SHOP not auto repair and get the radiator cleaned or "rodded" as it's called. NEVER replace any part till you know the problem

where every thermostat is. Follow the ratiator hose from the engine to the radiator. In the middle of that hose, is the thermostat. It is going to be the hard spot.

they are not on the upper coolant outlet, and trust me on this one!! the 2.7 and the 3.5 are behind the LOWER coolant outlet. you have to hoist the vehicle, support the engine on a jackstand and removed one of the motor mount on some models. this is not an easy task done in someones driveway. but it ait on the top of the motor!!!
