That's probably not something physics can ever discover. When science is honest, it admits there are phenomena for which it has no explanation. Science will eventually solve some of these mysteries. Historically, people sometimes said 'because God did it' as an escape when they didn't know the answer. That's illogical. But it's equally illogical to say God didn't create the universe, since we don't know that to be the case.
