ok i have guild wars the original.every other guild wars like guild wars factions and guild wars nightfall and guild wars eye of the north are expantions right?they dont give u an access key right cause ur sopposed to have the key when u buy the original rigth?im planning to buy the expantions on ebay thats y.

Like pretty much all online games (even the expansions of online games) they have their own keys, and you have to add those kays to your account in order to have access to the content. If they didn't have their own keys, someone could buy one copy and pass it around to all their friends and they'd all have the expansion then.

No that's not true. Each game has it's own access key.
DO NOT BUY FROM EBAY!!!! I cannot stress this enough. Most of the ebay sellers are scammers. They are selling used/stolen accounts. You cannot play on a used account. The original owner has the keys and so he can yank back the account at any time. Most of the scammers on ebay will sell you an account and then take back the account in a few weeks and re-sell it.
You need to buy the games new from a reputable store. That way you'll be able to link them to your Prophecies account.

Eye of the North is the GuildWars Prophecies expension (i.e. the original GuildWars, the one you currently have). When you purchase this, you only need to install it and it does not have an access key since it requires Prophecies to work.
The others are standalone games which have their own access keys and can be added to your current account by following instructions on the login screen.
It is best to buy the Eye of the North expansion pack when your character reaches Level 20 as this expansion pack is designed for Level 20 characters.
Also, when you purchase off ebay, make sure it is brand new and not a previously used game as it's a pain to transfer over accounts and you'll run the risk of getting your account broken into.

No, the games are not technically expansions. They can be played independently. You do need a cd key to play them. So, I would not recommend getting them on Ebay.
