I think it would depend on several factors. How long you have known them, how close you are to them, and their personalities.

Once you become really wealthy, some of your friends, may resent your good fortune, others may not be able to run in the same circles that you would start running in. Some may think that since you made it big, that you owe them some favors, and expect you to give them money or things since you are so rich.

I doubt if I'll ever have to worry about it myself, so I don't think too much about the subject. So don't waste too much time thinking about things like this, most likely, it will never become a problem for you.

good luck.

I have had time to think about this, because 2 times I missed Lotto by one number. I would keep my boyfriend, keep in touch with my best woman friend, my family and move the heck out of the town I live in. That's about it. I think everyone in my life since pre-kindergarten would be after me for a favor. And I would get a financial advisor and an attorney, I'm not that good with money and I am soft-hearted.

I believe that you can keep your friends from now. Many people do. It just depends on the type of person you are and how you can handle being rich. If you are the type that will let yourself getting carried away and find people you can show off to more, then you will let yourself loose touch with your old friends. If you can stay humble and remember that you were not rich you will be able to keep your friends. Again it depends on who you are as a person.

Most of my real friends I've known for years--since childhood or my teens (now my children are pretty much grown). The place where we live now has turned very bad (crime), and we lost most of the decent neighbors we had. I really want to get out of here, and go back to where my friends are...but it's a few more weeks until I'll know if I'll be able to do that or not.
In answer to your question...yes, I'd keep my current friends...I had them all my life...through all sorts of situations. I would move back to where they are, and travel to visit friends who moved elsewhere too.

Most definately. I would still be the same person....only have a few more things and a lot more money in the bank! My lifestyle would change but keep the same friends, oh yeah!! They are my buddies and I love them. Money doesn't change that!!!

considering I have only a few friends and those I have are very close, I would indeed keep my current friends....friendship is always eternal unless one refuses it.

Yes, because I am very selective about choosing my friends. If they were my friend in poverty, they would be my friend in wealth also. However acquiring new friends would be a different story. ;-)
